Experience and Skills:

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

    - Interact with existing and prospective tenants with enthusiasm and courtesy. Provide exceptional service to all individuals who call or visit the storage facility. Treat customers and co-workers with respect.
    - Show units to prospective tenants and help them determine which size unit they need to rent. Quote rents for units shown.
    - Rent storage units according to company policy.
    - Review all auction paperwork for accuracy and compliance with state law prior to advertising for auction and prior to auction. Make corrections/pull units from auction as necessary.
    - Prepare monthly Property Management report for Regional Manager by the fifth of the month.
    - Review bank deposits for accuracy.
    - Track contract and banking errors at the facility. Report errors to Regional Manager. Make recommendations on training to correct problems, if applicable.
    - Work with company auditor to correct contracting and banking errors discovered during monthly audits. Make recommendations on training to correct problems, if applicable.
    - Set sales/rental goals for the facility on a quarterly and annual basis. Track and report results to Regional Manager. Make recommendations to improve results.
    - Serve as a resource to other Facility Managers and Storage Consultants. Answer questions and provide training on operational issues as needed.
    - Compile monthly marketing surveys. Circulate to Marketing Manager and Regional Manager. Make recommendations to improve marketing efforts.
    - Do quarterly comps and provide rental rate recommendations to Regional Manager.
    - Create a facility marketing plan with assistance of Regional Manager and Marketing Manager.
    - Provide feedback to regional Manager on employee's performance.
    - Follow safety rules and regulations. Participate in all safety meetings and training sessions.
    - Do quarterly safety inspection for the facility and turn it in to the Safety Coordinator.
    - Make outside marketing calls as directed by the Marketing Manager or Regional Manager.
    - Train new employees as assigned.
    - Review all checklists for completion - daily, weekly, monthly, as required.
    - Perform other duties typically assigned to a Storage Consultant. Fill in other shifts when unplanned absences occur.
    - Other duties as assigned.


    - Strong verbal and written communication skills
    - Minimum (1) year in retail/customer service/sales experience
    - Ability to demonstrate effective problem solving
    - Superb punctuality and organizational skills
    - Ability to prioritize and multi-task
    - Skilled in Microsoft Office suite
    - High School Diploma or equivalent
    - Weekend availability is required
    - No criminal/arrest record

    - Current valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work
    - Submit to a background check

  • IBM-compatible PC and printer, postage meter, fax machine, desktop copier, cordless phone, credit card machine, and golf cart. Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, Site Link software.
